The chief executive of Egli Engineering Ltd. did his doctorate in 1996 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich with the thesis ‘flood protection and spatial planning – protection of natural hazards with instruments of spatial planning presented on the example of floods and debris flow’. In the year 2000 Thomas Egli was awarded with the first price of the foundation Environment and Damage Prevention, Stuttgart for the thesis ‘guideline for local protection against natural hazards.’ As a writer of documents and essays, he is known on an international level.

Daniel Rüttimann graduated in 2008. In his diploma thesis he examined the correlation between the size of forest clearings and signs of landslides according to the criteria of ‘sustainability in protective forests’ (Nachhaltigkeit im Schutzwald, NaiS).

Daniel Sturzenegger accomplished his studies in 2010.
In his master thesis he investigated hanging glaciers as a reference to the height level of cold ice in the Grisons, Berne and Wallis Alps/CH.
