Climate change
The earth’s climate has always been in flux, but because of our way of life, the climate is changing more rapidly. Since measurements began in 1864, the average temperature in Switzerland has risen by around 1.9°degrees Celsius. This may not sound like much, but it is having devastating and in some cases, already visible consequences for humans, fauna and flora. For example, there is a rise in the number of extreme weather events such as heavy rainfall, periods of drought, heat waves, mild winters or glacier retreat.
