We supported the canton of Solothurn in the project "Drought in agriculture". Our main task was to determine the water demand/supply per region. Crops that were currently planted and the expected surface water were taken into account. This was calculated up to the year 2060. In addition, an extreme dry year was factored in as this could occur in the future.
The model of the water balance map shows the critical regions at a glance. In a further step, regional project groups are working on various measures based on the principles developed.
