On behalf of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects SIA, Thomas Egli, Egli Engineering AG led the revision of SIA Standard 261/1 Impact on Structures - Supplementary Specifications. Within the scope of the revision of the Standard SIA 261/1, the impacts related to gravitational natural hazards on load-bearing structures have been defined in detail. Furthermore, there are explanations on the natural hazards hail, earthquake and wind. The hazard patterns and effects are shown in detail. The revised standard has been available since 1 November 2020 and forms an important interpretative document throughout Switzerland.
